Get the Look: Lace Bodysuit and Trousers

Can you believe tomorrow is the last day of 2019? We are starting Chapter 1 on an entirely new decade and I personally could not be more excited to begin. It may seem cheesy, but the New Year is always my favorite time.

For me, it represents a fresh start. The New Year gives me an excuse to hit the “pause” button, reflect on everything that has transpired over the past 365 days, and carefully consider how I want to move forward in all areas of my life.

As requested on Instagram, I will be covering my full how-to on creating your own vision board for 2020 on the blog. I’m sure that I’ll be going more into depth about what exactly the New Year represents to me then, so in the meantime, I will simply skip to this look.

For my final style post of the year, I wanted to combine two unlikely wardrobe essentials for the perfect sultry date night outfit!

If you are planning a night out this New Years Eve and want something that will make you stand out against the sea of sequin mini dresses and metallic jumpsuits, this may just be the inspiration you need. Although Sam and I are looking forward to a low-key New Years per usual, this feminine and flirty combo has been my go-to lately for our weekly dinner dates.

It’s always nice to have pretty lingerie on hand, whether you are married, dating, or single. You never know when you’re going to want to take an outfit up a notch to boost your inner confidence and spice things up.

Sometimes I’ll slip into one of my favorite lace bodysuits like this one underneath of a chunky sweater or loose-fitted dress just so that I feel a little sexier, even if no one knows it’s there but me.

When shopping for this look, I recommend choosing two shades within the same family of color - whether that is pink, tan, black, or otherwise.

These high-waisted, mauve pink trousers played a huge part during my first New York Fashion Week last February. I wore them to a couple shows with a long sleeve silk blouse and simple nude pumps and I got so many compliments. I had no idea they would be such a hit (mainly because I snagged them on Amazon the week before for only $25). p.s. They come in almost 30 different colors!

In my opinion, the key to styling loose-fitted trousers is pairing them with a top that is tight so that you don’t lose your body shape in the silhouette.

Another tip is to style them with nude pointed toe heels to elongate your legs (especially if you’re short like me)! If you’ve been following along for awhile now, I’m sure that you recognize this pair as the number one item that I wear most frequently.

This is now my second identical pair because I wore the first ones so often that I had to retire them after too many scuff marks. If I were to divide the price of these heels by how many days I got use out of them though… my mind might actually explode. I believe it is literally fractions of a penny. Obviously, I can’t get enough of this classic staple.

Without further ado, I am linking my favorite affordable lace bodysuits, blazers, trousers, and accessories below for you to shop!
