Dressing Up A White Button-Down Shirt
Crashing unexpectedly at your boyfriend’s place and need something quick to wear to brunch? Or perhaps, more likely, you’ve spotted the latest trend circling Instagram and want to test it out for yourself.
While my feed has been full of ladies rocking men’s white button-down shirts with chunky, black combat boots and their classic Chanel double flap bags, I wanted to share my feminine (and affordable) twist on this Fall trend.
Believe it or not, this effortless, yet stylish, weekend outfit cost me a total of $3 to create. The only item I had to purchase was an oversized cream sweater vest that I found at our local Goodwill. I “borrowed” the white button-down from Sam’s closet (aka he’s never getting it back), and styled this look with other wardrobe essentials I already had on hand.
While you probably won’t catch me wearing chunky combat boots anytime soon, I feel like an excellent alternative for my more “girly” ladies is a pair of neutral, knee high boots. This keeps the look casual and cool without compromising your personal style.
The fiddler hat I am wearing is a piece I snagged last year on Poshmark for $5 that adds a wonderful texture element and pulls this outfit together for the season.
