New York Fashion Week Outfit Roundup

Restoration Hardware Rooftop Restaurant

Wrapping up my time in NYC today with a full recap of the 8 outfits I wore during Fashion Week and a few tips on how to create a capsule wardrobe when traveling!

I’ll admit that I’m usually not the best at packing light when traveling. This is especially true in the likely scenario that I plan on shooting new content during my trip. However, since I was taking a train into NYC this time around and didn’t want to deal with checking a bag, I knew that I would have to fit an entire Fashion Week wardrobe into two carry-ons (yikes).

Now, it’s no surprise that I love a good backdrop! Fun fact: sometimes I spend hours on location scouting for one shoot alone. If you’ve ever visited New York City, you know that there is certainly no shortage of fantastic photo-ops. That’s why I knew when I started styling for NYFW that I would have to be extra strategic in packing versatile pieces that could be worn (and photographed) countless ways.

For starters, my satin pants, longline coat, and white bodysuit were used in several of the outfits below. All 3 of these items (and 90% of what I packed for this trip) were simple, neutral solids that could be mixed and matched easily.

I also packed a bunch of fun accessories like hats, small handbags, scarves, sunglasses, and jewelry to add a little extra flair to each look and switch things up in between shows and events without changing my clothes.

Lastly, a super simple and inexpensive hack to completely change up your look in an instant is switching your lip color from a natural nude to a bold red. Packing a few different lipstick options takes up virtually no space in your suitcase and can make you feel confident and sexy with minimal effort!
